TERABYTE TRIANGLE NEWSLETTER ************************************************************* ***Memories By Design Blasts Off ************************************************************* CSK Communications partner Dan Stutzke is locally well-known as a pioneering designer of the Washington Water Power fiber fabric which now supplies VPnet, EMAN, and other large regional broadband projects. This month, Stutzke has been nominated for the Washington State Electrical Board. According to Jim Burke, Stutzke's partner at CSK, "like the Academy Awards, just being nominated is quite an accomplishment and holds a lot of water with the electrical community." The electrical board members are appointed by the governor after an interview process. The electrical board consists of fourteen members. The purpose and function of the board is to advise the director on all matters pertaining to enforcement including, but not limited to, standards of electrical and telecommunications installation, minimum inspection procedures, and the adoption of rules pertaining to the electrical inspection division. The electrical board also is given first opportunity to consider any proposed amendments or repeals and makes recommendations about them. CSK Communications is located in the SIRTI incubator at 665 N. Riverpoint Boulevard. CSK's engineering services include "inside the physical plant" design and implementation as well as their "outside the plant" services. They are a licensed CLEC, and they work with developers to create "plug-and-go" facilities. Many companies have a lot of expertise in communications systems, according to Burke, but they lack infrastructure expertise for high-speed and broadband. CSK can provide that infrastructure. --- Billie Moreland
